My cat can't decide if it's a toy or a treat. He probably likes the fresh catnip I give him from the garden better but it's a good alternative

I have two very spirited 6 month old Rat Terrier puppies who have a hard time calming down at the end of the day. I throw one of these balls (to them a chew toy) into the pen, they roll it around and chew on it, and calm way down. Come to find out (via the internet), dogs react differently to catnip: it calms them rather than excites them as it does for cats. I bought two more packages. They love them, and with these catnip balls introduced at bedtime along with a Raw Paws sturdy chew for each of them as the doggie door to the yard is closed, they relax and behave like my two little darlings that they are.

My cat Benny is 19yro, has cancer, CKD, & arthritis in both hind legs. He enjoys licking the Yowee brand catnip bananas, & I was so hoping he would like these mainly for the dental benefits. He wouldn't touch it, smell it, lick it, or barely look at it, even with gentle prompting. I have tried to play with him with it hidden in his favorite tissue paper, box, nothing. I'm so disappointed. I am desperately trying to get his weight up, desire for play back, & help his teeth & gums. Shipping was quick, the bag was sealed well, so maybe it had something to do with the desiccant packet inside touching the balls? My cat is super sensative to stuff like that. I also ordered the chicken sticks for his teeth, but they are on backorder. I thought I would order some small inexpensive items from Raw Paws first, before jumping into freeze dried treats or the chicken hearts.
