Frozen Raw Feeding Instructions

Handling, Portioning, Serving & Storing

1. Receiving Your Order
  • Use protective gloves when removing dry ice from cooler and disposing of dry ice.
  • To dispose of dry ice, place it in a well-ventilated area.
  • Place the frozen contents of your order in the freezer as soon a possible.
  • Call or text us at (317) 509-9811 if anything is thawed or damaged.
2. Serving Size
  • Use our serving calculator above to quickly determine serving sizes for your pets.
  • Remember, each pet is unique. Our serving calculator is a general recommendation. The exact amount to feed your pet may vary.
  • Breed, size, and activity levels may impact daily feeding requirements. Adjust accordingly!
3. Meal Portioning
  • Place frozen raw pet food in the fridge to partially thaw.
  • The easiest and cleanest way to portion frozen raw food is when it's partially thawed (not too soft, not too hard).
  • Once partially thawed, begin to portion your pet’s meals.
  • Have Ready: Cutting board, knife, disposable gloves, scale, leak-proof containers and paper towel.
4. Storing Portions
  • Place up to 4 days of the portioned raw food in the fridge.
  • Refreeze remaining portions. Keep frozen until you're ready to thaw for serving.
  • To thaw frozen portions, place in the fridge for at least 24 hours before serving.
  • Fully thawed raw food can last up to 4 days in the fridge. If kept frozen, raw food stays fresh for up to 2 years.
5. Serving
  • It’s recommended to serve raw pet food in a stainless steel or glass bowl.
  • If your pet does not eat all of the food within 30 minutes, refrigerate for up to 24 hours or discard the remaining food.
6. Sanitation Tips
  • Use protective gloves when handling raw food.
  • To avoid cross-contamination keep raw food separate from other foods and store in the lowest compartment of the fridge.
  • Wash hands and utensils thoroughly with soap after handling raw food.
  • Disinfect all meal prep areas and surfaces that came into contact with raw food.
